When do I know I need to call for repairs?

You know you need service when any of your problems fall on the “LION” acronym:

Leaking – if your appliance is leaking, something isn’t working correctly. To avoid harm to yourself or the appliance, call us when you first notice water.

Incorrect Operation – whether you are dealing with a microwave that doesn’t heat food all the way through or a dishwasher that doesn’t actually clean your dishes, if your appliance isn’t working, you need a technician on-site to fix the problem.

Odors – bad odors are frequently a sign of a more serious problem, so it’s better to handle any unusual scents from your appliances when they first arise.

Noises – when out of the ordinary noises happen, there is a reason why your appliance is making them. Contact us for prompt service.

Why is it important to have regular maintenance on my home systems and appliances?

Instead of facing a large bill at an inopportune time when your appliance breaks down, regular preventative maintenance can save you money, stress, and energy in the long run. Regularly scheduled maintenance allows our technicians to keep your appliances working at their peak and, frequently, anticipate upcoming repairs.

When should I choose a furnace vs. a heat pump?

Our technicians have been trained to identify the best heating unit for your home. Their decisions are made based on system usage, age of the building, number of individuals living there, and heating patterns. Our technicians are all factory-trained by manufacturers to determine how a system works best.

Our technicians also receive manufacturer training to specialize in the following top name brands:

My refrigerator is making a buzzing noise—what’s wrong?

Buzzing noises are often cause by ice makers located within units that aren’t hooked up to a water supply. It’s best to get one of our technicians out to inspect your appliance in person. You can fill out our online contact form or call us at 847-999-4600.

What is HVAC?

HVAC stands for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; it’s an industry term that refers to anything used to heat or cool down your house. We install, replace, and repair air conditioning units, heating units, heat pumps, and furnaces.

What are the benefits of a zoning system?

A zoning system allows you to focus your heating or cooling on the area of the home that needs it most. This can be accomplished through sensors that detect the temperature in a specific room, pre-programming times of day for heating and cooling, and by pulling heat from one room that doesn’t need it and funneling it to a room that does require heat (like bedrooms in the winter).
